Kleine Zalze Lodge & Restaurant
Kleine Zalze also houses a number of beautifully appointed, lavishly furnished country style lodges. The stylishly decorated 47 rooms and suites of the lodge are set alongside the first fairway of the championship 'De Zalze Golf Course'.
Accommodation is available in a variety of units: two bedroomed family suites, one bed roomed suites, superior rooms and standard rooms.
Although the lodge offers all the comforts associated with a four star facility, the rooms are available with kitchens or kitchenettes, complete with microwave, and cutlery and crockery for those who prefer to self-cater.
Restaurant: situated within walking distance from De Zalze, Kleine Zalze Lodge Restaurant is open daily to De Zalze home owners and their families and friends. With renowned Chef Nic van Wyk behind this, guests can expect delightful lunches and dinners, as well as monthly themed evenings and relaxing Sunday lunches.

Terroir Restaurant
Within the Estate one can find the Terroir restaurant, which opened in October 2004, and over the years has become one of the most sought-after gourmet destinations in the Cape winelands, placing Stellenbosch prominently on the culinary map. The setting, under historic oak trees with views over the De Zalze golf course and surrounding gardens and vineyards, is both refined and relaxed. It’s the perfect environment in which to enjoy a fine meal matched to excellent wines.
Multi award winning chef Michael Broughton and his team have been responsible for Terroir’s ongoing success in bringing about a string of prestigious awards, including winning Third Best Restaurant in 2009 as well as the Service Excellence Award in the 2008 Prudential Eat Out Restaurant Awards, the Johnny Walker Eat Out Restaurant of the Year and Service Excellence Award in 2006 and Eat Out Top 10 in 2005. |

Kleine Zalze Wines
Farm manager Henning Retief and Chief Winemaker Johan Joubert and his team is responsible for the prize-winning wine portfolio of Kleine Zalze. Kleine Zalze wines are marked by classical structure and complexity matched by a vibrant flavour intensity. Discernibly South African in style, they are refreshing, beautifully balanced and well suited to food. They are made according to traditional methods, with minimal cellar intervention but supported by modern equipment.
Grapes of exceptional quality are ensured by employing viticultural techniques that focus on sustainability. Their success lies in giving special attention to management of the microclimate around grape bunches. Their decisions, such as vine row planting direction, trellising and the height above the ground of vines, as well as the shape and density of leaf canopies all impact on the quality of fruit delivered to the cellar. Each vineyard block is vinified independently to give the winemaking team the building blocks to create wines that taste of place. Close attention is paid to cultivating grapes of exceptional quality and each vineyard is assessed and managed individually during the growth period. Extensive yield reduction is also done to produce the best quality, fruit driven wines with outstanding character and maturation potential. |
